Issue

Crystal Cove State Park Interpretive Center

From ActCoastal

Month October
Year 2014
Summary California State Parks proposed to remove an existing Interpretive Center from a parking lot at Crystal Cove State Park and build two new modular structures in Environmentally Sensitive Habitat.
Outcome Green Dot.png
Outcome Description
Why You Should Care Environmentally Sensitive Habitat is that which is rare or especially valuable and which can be easily disturbed or degraded by human activity and development. The Coastal Act prohibits development within ESHA unless it is resource dependent. The construction of two new modular structures is not resource dependent and therefore could not be permitted.
